Además, debo decir que todos los productos y locales son de excelente calidad, así como el hecho de encontrar una gran variedad de marcas de alto renombre.

RESTAURANTES Y EXPERIENCIAS GASTRONÓMICAS
Cómo todo Centro Comercial, el hecho de conseguir una amplia variedad de lugares de comida y restaurantes es algo en lo que Plaza Andares no se queda atrás.

Museo de Caza Benito Albarrán

Este museo esta ubicado en una propiedad con un gran terreno estilo Sudán. Desde hace más de 30 años en su interior exhibe una colección de taxidermia, es decir animales cazados. Obra de Don Benito Albarrán en excursiones de caza en América, Europa, Asia y áfrica. Posiblemente el único en su tipo en México. Hay en total unas 270 piezas de 10 diferentes especies de animales. Paseo Teopotzintli

Se trata de un andador donde a lo largo podrás encontrar lugares para comer, bares, músicos, karaokes y otros atractivos principalmente de entretenimiento y diversión. Si buscas souvenirs o artesanías este podría ser un buen lugar para adquirir algunas. También hay vendedores de antigüedades y otras mercancías. Este paseo adoquinado te lleva desde Plaza las Américas hasta el Arco de Zapopan.

Plaza de las Américas

Pareciera el nombre de una lugar con comercios, pero en realidad se trata de una plaza donde se levantan 28 astas que representan a los países de América Latina. Buen lugar para caminar por la noche y disfrutar de la camaradería de los lugareños.

Zona Arqueológica El Ixtepete o Iztepete

A esta zona Arqueológica se le considera una de las más importantes del occidente de México. Fue descubierta en 1938 por unos trabajadores mientras reparaban las vías del tranvía, pero  fue hasta 1955 cuando se empezaron los trabajos de restauración. Abierta al público todos los días excepto lunes.

Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Zapopan

Para cerrar con broche de oro, nada mejor que conocer una de las joyas del turismo religioso en México: La Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Zapopan. Originalmente fue construida en honor a la Virgen de la Inmaculada Concepción. Se empezó a construir en 1690 y se terminó en 1730. Y, hablando de la capital del país, habrá que decir que los habitantes de la misma, quizá no dirijamos mucho nuestra mirada a Guadalajara cuando buscamos comprarnos algo que nos llene de alegría por unos instantes, pues para eso tenemos Tepito con sus 10 mil puestos, más los mil del Mercado de la Merced y los incontables que hay alrededor del Zócalo.

Pero para los habitantes de Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Nayarit, Durango, Michoacán y Zacatecas, por mencionar algunos de los estados cercanos, para ellos ir al Taiwán de Dios es obligado al menos una vez al año, y también lo debería de ser para todos los mexicanos.

El edificio es considerado una de las muestras más importantes de la arquitectura neoclásica en México. Se ubica en una superficie de 23,447 metros cuadrados. Presenta una planta simétrica que queda dividida por la cruz de su capilla mayor en estilo toscano amenizado por arcos tapiados. Su fachada se distingue por un frontón liso sostenido por seis columnas dóricas.

El museo es propiedad del Estado de Jalisco, está protegido como monumento histórico por la Ley Federal de Zonas y Monumentos Arqueológicos, Artísticos e Históricos de 1972, que impone controles estrictos a las intervenciones. La responsabilidad técnica de su conservación y restauración está a cargo de la Secretaría de Cultura, Gobierno de Jalisco con el apoyo técnico del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL).

Tanto los murales como el propio edificio deben mantener las condiciones del espacio del museo, de acuerdo con los requisitos técnicos de seguridad y conservación de las colecciones, sin afectar su estado patrimonial.

The museum is owned by the State of Jalisco, it is protected as a historical monument by the Federal Law of Archaeological, Artistic and Historical Zones and Monuments of 1972, which imposes strict controls on interventions. The technical responsibility for its conservation and restoration is in charge of the Ministry of Culture, Government of Jalisco with the technical support of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL).

Both the murals and the building itself must maintain the conditions of the museum space, in accordance with the technical requirements for security and conservation of the collections, without affecting their heritage status.

Las compras

El mercado San Juan de Dios o mercado Libertad es una visita obligada, con 40 mil metros cuadrados de extensión, obra del Arquitecto Alejandro Zohn es el recinto techado más grande de Latinoamérica en su tipo. Entrar en él, es sumergirse en una algarabía mexicana, donde sus puestos de comida seducen el olfato y los colores de la fruta de temporada, ropa, regalos, dulces típicos, remedios naturales y hasta pócimas mágicas, distraen la vista. Además, de comprar y comer, en su patio se puede beber el más frío y fresco jugo de caña, difícil de encontrar en otro lugar. Frente al mercado, se encuentra el Centro Joyero, en esta plaza se localizan las más finas alhajas, así como delicadas piezas de bisutería y acero.

La cultura, los lugares y pequeños placeres

De ahí, a visitar el Instituto Cultural Cabañas, un maravilla de la arquitectura neoclásica, declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1997. En su interior, alberga murales de José Clemente Orozco, admiralos es toda una experiencia. Además, este recinto, cuenta durante todo el año con exposiciones

Del Cabañas, lo siguiente es caminar por la Plaza Tapatía, disfrutar la Sala de los Magos y los Magos Universales, las esculturas interactivas de Alejandro Colunga, la fuente de Quetzalcóatl, edificios como el Teatro Degollado en medio del río de gente que suele congregarse a disfrutar el día por la zona hasta llegar al centro de la Plaza de la Liberación, donde se encuentra el monumento a Hidalgo y la calle Pino Suárez. Tomando esa calle, a escasa cuadra y media se ubica la cantina La Fuente, una de las más antiguas de la ciudad y visita obligada para descansar un momento en su fresco interior.

La cantina es un ícono cotidiano de la ciudad, tiene una bicicleta oxidada y llena de polvo en un nicho que, según cuentan los parroquianos, fue abandonada hace muchos años por un cliente que la dejó empeñada para después volver a pagar su cuenta. Nunca volvió y la bicicleta se convirtió en el emblema del lugar.

La Rotonda de los Jaliscienses Ilustres es el siguiente monumento a visitar, una circunferencia donde descansan los restos de personajes que dejaron huella en la historia de la ciudad o del país, como el Doctor Atl, famoso paisajista mexicano o el arquitecto de fama internacional Luis Barragán.

Frente a esta rotonda, está el Museo Regional de Guadalajara, con 14 salas dedicadas a la historia de la ciudad. Ahí puedes encontrar un esqueleto de mamut, parte de esta colección. Otros museos que puedes visitar en la zona son: Museo de la Ciudad, Museo de Periodismo y Artes Gráficas, Casa Museo López Portillo, Museo de las Artes Populares, Museo de Cera, etc.

En contraesquina del Museo Regional, está la Catedral de Guadalajara. Su arquitectura combina los estilos góticos, barrocos y neoclásico. Ha sobrevivido a diversos sismos que la han modificado, sus torres por ejemplo son resultado de uno de ellos. Al entrar se respira el fervor católico de los tapatíos.

Para los amantes el arte sacro, en esta zona se encuentran, además de la Catedral, otros templos para visitar: San Agustín, San José, Santa Mónica, María de Gracia, El Carmen, Aranzazú, famoso por sus retablos de estilo churrigueresco.
